Honda driver knocks down two pedestrians crossing road in Fareham town centre

POLICE are investigating an incident that saw a car knock down two pedestrians crossing a road in Fareham town centre last night.

A Honda pulled away from a junction on West Street and knocked down the pedestrians as they were crossing the road at 9.42pm on Tuesday.

A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘Two people received minor injuries and were taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital for assessment.

‘No arrests have been made.’

The driver remained at the scene.

A tweet from Fareham Police said the incident – which briefly closed the road – remains ‘under investigation’.
