Hunt on to track down man after sexual assault in Gosport

AN APPEAL has been launched to help track down a man after a sexual assault in Gosport.

The victim was subjected to the assault on Stoke Road between 9.50pm and 10.20pm on Tuesday February 2.

Inspector Matt Wake who is leading the investigation said: ‘This was a very upsetting incident for the victim, who has now bravely come forward to report it to police.

‘We have a very distinctive description of a man we want to speak with, and are asking anyone who may have seen this man in the Stoke Road area around the time of the offence to make contact with us.

‘Equally, if you think you know this man based on the description, please call us.

‘We ask people in this area to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to police. Officers will be out on patrol in the area and carrying out enquiries as the investigation continues.’

The man police are looking to track down is described as white, around 6ft 3ins tall and of slim build. He had spots on the bottom of his his face and was wearing large headphones around his neck, which were black with a gold ring around each ear-cup.

He was dressed in a black beanie hat, a black hooded top which had a small white ‘squiggle’ on the left chest area, black trousers, white trainers and was carrying a black face mask.
