Identity of body found in missing Solent jet skier case is confirmed

Police say that a body found while looking for a jet skier is that of missing man Elezaj Shkelzen.

Mr Shkelzen was last seen after leaving Lymington, on his way to Langstone Harbour, on a jet ski.

The white and burgundy Yamaha Waverunner was spotted unmanned by a tanker with a mobile phone still on board.

A joint effort was launched between Hampshire police, the search and rescue helicopter from Lee-on-the-Solent and the Hill Head Coastguard Rescue Team.

A body was found on Monday and this morning police have confirmed it is that of the Oxfordshire man.

A police spokeswoman said: ‘Elezaj's family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

‘His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
