Investigation launched after two bodies found in Portsmouth flat at different times on the same day

Officers were called at 10.42am on Wednesday to a report of the sudden death of a man in his 50s at a property on Estella Road in Buckland.

A police spokeswoman said: ‘At approximately 4.20pm we attended the same address a second time and located the body of a woman in her 60s.

‘Our colleagues at Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service attended to assist in ensuring that the property was safe.’

The spokeswoman said that the deaths are being treated as unexplained and an investigation has started.

Police have been seen in the area today (Thursday) going in and out of a block of flats.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said confirmed that it was called to the scene but said it could not confirm any further details.

South Central Ambulance Service was contacted for comment but did not respond.
