‘Then I watched as one boy fell to ground. It was like he had been shot, he just went straight down. You could tell he had been stabbed.’

Residents watched as paramedics treated the wounded boy, who was left soaked in blood and lying on the floor.

It’s understood many of the youths involved in the violence had been attending a girl’s 16th birthday party in the street.

Neighbours said the party had been ‘quiet and controlled’ for much of the evening.

However, they claimed the violence boiled over after a group of youths arrived at the scene in taxis shortly before midnight.

One mother-of-eight, who lives in the street, admitted she has been left fearing for her children’s safety after the brawl.

The 36-year-old told The News: ‘What’s happened is disgusting. I’m scared to death. I’ve got babies in the house.’

Police are this morning guarding a house in Meadowsweet Way, with a second part of the road, near the Kwiki Mart in Mablethorpe Road, cordoned off by tape.
