Jail for Hampshire drink-driver caught twice more than 4 times legal limit

Jason Monks, 38, of no fixed address was stopping in Titchfield Road, Stubbington, while already banned, and had been handed a suspended sentence for drink-driving just a day before.
Monks was also on bail for an allegation of being in charge of a vehicle over the limit.

Hide AdHe was stopped on August 20, Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court was told.
A breath test revealed he had 151 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.
Monks was jailed for 28 weeks overall, including the activation of his suspended term.
He must pay a £128 victim surcharge.
Portsmouth magistrates banned Monks from driving for 50 months and 98 days.

He was caught drink-driving with 144 in breath in Coleford, Gloucestershire, on July 17, and was handed a 12-week suspended term on August 19.
Monks’ pleas were taken into account when he was sentenced.
