Large police cordons in Paulsgrove as officers seen searching area

SEVERAL large police cordons have been put in place in Paulsgrove.

Officers are in Allaway Avenue and Falmouth Road, with cordons put up at the skate park and a nearby woodland area.

The underpass for the M27 bridge at Falmouth Road was also cordoned off by police.

It’s unclear what has happened. People living nearby have said they are concerned.

Police wearing gloves and dressed in black uniform appear to be carrying out a ground search near Falmouth Road.

One woman in Allaway Avenue, who did not want to be named, said: ‘We’ve all been wondering what’s happened.

‘The police have been here since we woke up at 7am but nobody has come to see us or tell us what’s going on.

‘I’m not sure why they haven’t done that.’

Another resident, who did not want to be named, said: ‘They’ve been here all day but nobody has knocked on my door yet.

‘I am concerned about what could have happened but have no idea what it is.’
