Leigh Park murder: Sister pays tribute to her 'bright' brother George Allison

THE elder sister of a Leigh Park man who was stabbed to death on Saturday night has made an emotional tribute to her ‘bright little brother’.

Dad-of-two George Allison, 21, died and a 27-year-old woman was injured following the incident in Tichborne Grove, Leigh Park, at 11pm on Saturday.

A man has appeared in court charged with his murder and causing grievous bodily harm.

In a public post on Facebook, George’s sister Jade Scott said she would the father of two girls was ‘taken too soon’.

She said he was ‘the most cheeky little boy growing up’ and that she would treasure memories of him.

Writing on the social media platform, she said: ‘George had the biggest heart and loved his family!

‘He has two beautiful amazing daughters that will always know about their dad.

‘Shine bright little brother we all love you loads and you are going to be missed by everyone.

‘You were the most cheeky little boy growing up and loved getting me and Sam into trouble.

‘Those memories I will hold tight forever.’

The stabbing sparked shock in the community.

Floral tributes have been left close to the scene of the fatal stabbing.

One tribute said: ‘RIP. Fly high mate.’

Kevin Batchelor, 25, of East Hill, Camborne, Cornwall, appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday charged with murder and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He will now appear at Winchester Crown Court on May 28.

Batchelor did not enter any pleas during his hearing before magistrates today but will now appear at Winchester Crown Court on May 28 via videolink after his case was sent for trial.

A 33-year-old woman from Havant who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been questioned by officers and released under investigation.

A 31-year-old man from Hayling Island arrested on suspicion of murder, and assisting an offender has been questioned by officers.

He will face no further action over murder. He remains under investigation for assisting an offender.

There is no link to the death of 16-year-old Louise Smith, whose body was found at Havant Thicket, detectives said at the weekend.
