Officers and the ambulance service have been seen Southern Water’s Peel Common water treatment works this morning.
Police have cordoned off the entrance to the waste treatment works.
Around nine officers and eight police vehicles are present.

A Hampshire police spokesman said: ‘All I am in a position to confirm at present is that officers are conducting a warrant and some searches in Newgate Lane, Fareham.’

‘They arrived without sirens'
A couple who live along Newgate lane and who asked not to be named said they first saw police vehicles arrive at 11:09am.
One resident, a 58-year-old-man, said: ‘We went upstairs to watch.
‘They arrived without any sirens.’
‘But it must be serious if they have sent this many police.
‘I’ve never seen anything like it.
‘We’ve lived here seven years.
The couple said that the police were investigating a site believed to have been bought my travellers two years ago.
The resident continued: ‘They have a couple of permanent structures on the site.
‘We’ve never had any trouble in the area.’
‘We say hello to them when we see them.’
At least 12 police vehicles at the scene
Our reporter Richard Lemmer is at the scene in Newgate Lane today.
He has said that there are at least 12 police vehicles, including three police vans.
There are at least 15 police officers at the scene.
