The sneering custody shot shows the man who jurors agreed lured Louise to a remote woodland spot in Havant Thicket and then battered her to death.

He returned to the scene later to burn her body.

Mays admitted manslaughter but denied murder, saying he admitted punching her but hadn’t left her dead. The trial heard that he lied to police after initially being arrested for kidnap – and then later blamed his lies on false memory syndrome, only recalling that he had attacked her while on remand in prison.
