M27 driver caught speeding at 72mph in 50mph smart motorway works limit
MAGISTRATES have fined a motorway speeder £80.
Lisa Franks, 35, of Dunsbury Way, Leigh Park, admitted driving a Land Rover at 72mph in the 50mph limit between junction 4 and 5 eastbound on the M27 at Eastleigh.
There is a temporary 50mph limit as Highways England transforms the three-lane motorway into an all-live lane smart motorway. The work ends next year.
‘Yellow vultures’ average speed cameras are monitoring the 50mph limit between junction 4 and 11.
The scheme has been criticised over safety fears.
Franks previously denied speeding on May 15 but changed her plea.
At Portsmouth Magistrates' Court Frank received six points on her licence.
