Man, 20, punched in the face by robbers 'armed with a knife' during Southsea attack

The assault took place in Southsea just after midnight, on Thursday morning.
The 20-year-old victim was ambushed by two males as he approached Queen Crescent, near the junction with Sussex Terrace.

Hide AdHe was threatened by the males before being punched in the face and told to hand over his wallet and backpack.
Police believe one of the suspects was armed with a knife and have now launched a manhunt.
A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘The suspects made off with the man’s wallet and backpack down Sussex Terrace.
‘A short while later the victim’s card was used at an off-licence on Osborne Road, Southsea.’

Hide AdThe spokesman added: ‘The victim suffered bruising to the face and did not require hospital treatment.’
Police have now released CCTV images of the two suspects.
one of the men was wearing a black baseball cap and a white t-shirt with tan colour shirts. The other was wearing black shorts and a white t-shirt.
One of the suspects was said to be on a bike at the time of the robbery.
Police are urging anyone who recognise the men in the images, or who may have information about the attack, to call them on 101, quoting reference 44200230662.
