Man, 23, due in court accused of voyeurism at Denmead Junior School

A MAN is due in court charged with voyeurism after police investigated a claim of voyeurism at a junior school.

The 23-year-old, who police said lives in Waterlooville, was arrested after the allegations were made in relation to Denmead Junior School.

As reported, Hampshire police launched an investigation into the voyeurism allegation made on November 29 last year.

A police spokesman said: ‘He will face one count of voyeurism and two counts of making a photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child.

‘He is due to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, October 29, following postal requisition.’

Parents of the more than 300 pupils at the school were previously told the incident was ‘contained’ and that there is ‘no ongoing risk’.

Last year headteacher Elaine Viner told The News: ‘In line with our safeguarding procedures, as soon as it was brought to our attention, immediate action was taken to notify the appropriate authorities and all necessary steps have been taken to ensure that pupils are safe in our school.’
