Man, 30, arrested for importing cocaine and firearm offences following container search at Southampton docks

A 30-year-old man has been arrested for drug importation and firearm offences following a multi-agency investigation involving Hampshire Constabulary.

Marius Molla, of no fixed abode was arrested in Essex on Friday and was charged with several offences the next day.

The offences included being concerned in the supply of cocaine, importing a controlled drug of class A with intent to evade prohibition, possessing a firearm and converting criminal property

The charges are in connection with the search of a container at Southampton Docks by Border Force on Monday, November 30.

A spokesman from the South East Regional Organised Unit said: ‘(The arrest comes as part of) an investigation by the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit, working alongside Hampshire Constabulary, Border Force and the National Crime Agency.’

Molla appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Monday, December 7 and is due before Winchester Crown Court in January.
