Man accused of murdering Kayleigh Dunning in North End appears in court

A MAN accused of murdering a 32-year-old woman days before Christmas has made a brief appearance in court.

Mark Brandford, of Kingston Crescent, North End, appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court, yesterday afternoon.

The 49-year-old is accused of murdering Kayleigh Dunning at his flat on December 17, last year. He has denied the charge.

Wearing jeans, a white jumper, Nike trainers and glasses, he spoke only to confirm his name during the two-minute hearing.

Brandford, who is remanded in custody, was transported from prison to attend a case management meeting with his defence counsel.
