A MAN has been arrested after a ‘street fight’ in Portsmouth.

Officers were called to reports of a group of men were fighting in the street in Twyford Avenue, Stawshaw, at 6.28pm last night.

Witnesses reported on social media seeing a number of police cars in the area near the Mother Shipton pub on Saturday evening.

A spokeswoman for Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

‘He has been released on police bail while our enquiries continue.’
