Murder investigation launched after 70-year-old man found dead in Southampton

Police were called at 9.02pm on Wednesday after the 70-year-old was found in Bursledon Road, Southampton.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his next-of-kin have been informed.

The man was from Southampton.

Police have said that enquiries into the exact circumstances of his death are ongoing and that they will be in a position to release more information as the investigation continues.

Officers remain at the scene and will be in the area conducting enquiries. Any residents with concerns should speak to an officer.
