Around 140 migrants arrived at Eastney beach after being transferred from a single dingy south of the Isle of Wight in the English Channel by two RNLI lifeboats.
A large operation took place to process the illegal migrants, with dozens of government workers from police, Border Force, ambulance and fire crews, along with a number of transport busses.
The Home Office has told The News this morning that “all of those brought ashore have left the landing site and are being transported for processing in the usual way”.
