Police find body of teenage boy, 17, near Portsmouth retail park

THE body of a teenager was found near a Portsmouth retail park, police have confirmed.

Police sealed off a section of Burrfields Road, Copnor, just after 6pm on Thursday, with police cars and ambulances on the scene.

The road was closed off between Ocean Retail Park and Eastern Road, according to eyewitnesses.

Today, Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed that a teenage boy’s body was recovered.

A spokeswoman for the police force said: ‘We were called at 6.25pm yesterday, Thursday, April 15, after the body of a 17-year-old boy was discovered in Burrfields, Portsmouth.

‘His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

‘The death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file is being prepared for the coroner.’
