Police hunt van driver after collision in Fareham leaves motorcyclist with 'serious' leg injuries

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a ‘serious’ collision in Newgate Lane East that saw a motorcyclist rushed to hospital.

The incident involved a collision between a van – believed to be a grey Renault or Vauxhall vehicle – and a blue Suzuki motorcycle at 3.45pm on Thursday, November 5.

The rider of the motorbike, a 57-year-old man from Holbury, was taken to Southampton General Hospital with serious leg injuries.

The driver of the van is described as being a white main in his 30s, with black hair.

Here’s the latest update on cases from Portsmouth courts

It is likely that the front of the van sustained ‘significant damage’, according to a spokesman from Hampshire Constabulary.

He said: ‘Can you help? We are appealing for witnesses after a serious collision in Fareham left a man with serious injuries.

‘Officers have conducted initial enquiries but are now turning to the public for help.
