Police link two burglaries in Gosport and Fareham

POLICE have linked two burglaries which took place within hours of each other in Fareham and Gosport.

Just after midnight on Friday, January 22 an offender was disturbed trying to gain entry to an address in The Curve, in Gosport.

They were disturbed by the victim while trying to open a window at the property before jumping over a fence into Peel Common School.

Then, a little while later between 2am and 3am an offender gained entry to an address on Woodcote Lane, in Fareham, by smashing a ground floor window.

Once inside they searched the address before being disturbed by the victim. The offender made off with a small quantity of silver cutlery.

Detective Constable Dermot McBride, said: ‘We are linking these two incidents where someone has gained entry to two homes while the victims were asleep.

‘It is vital that the person who is responsible is identified.

‘Did you see someone in the area at the time of the incidents? Have you seen anyone acting suspiciously in these areas or any vehicles you don’t recognise? If you have any information, we need to hear from you.’
