Police name woman charged in connection with death of George Allison

THE woman charged in connection with the death of a man has been named by police.

At around 11pm on Saturday, May 23, police were called to Tichborne Grove, Leigh Park.

There, officers found a man and a woman who both had stab wounds.

George Allison, 21 from Riders Lane, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hayley Batchelor, 33 from Havant, has been charged with assisting an offender, and will appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on August 27.

Police confirmed the charge yesterday but did not initially name her.

A 32-year-old woman from Waterlooville who had been previously arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender will face no further action, police say.

A spokeswoman for Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘Officers have previously charged a man with murder and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

‘He is Kevin Joseph Batchelor, aged 25 years, of East Hill, Cambourne, Cornwall.’

Two further men, Barry Baker, 38, of Oracle Drive, Waterlooville, and Lewis Turner, 32, of Camelford, Cornwall, were charged with assisting an offender.
