Police raid Portsmouth house after reports of cannabis factory with 40 plants

POLICE raided a Portsmouth home after being told about a cannabis factory.

Officers heard reports of about 40 cannabis plants in the home in Austin Court, Paulsgrove.

Several officers arrived this morning and were seen carrying evidence bags into the home.

A police spokesman said: ‘Officers have attended an address in Austin Court after we received a report of around 40 cannabis plants being found. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.’

Baffled residents have said they have been left in the dark over the police commotion.

One man, who asked not to be named, said: 'Police have been here since the early morning.

'There were about five or six police cars parked out here at one point.

'We don't know what's happening. But we have seen police officers carrying empty evidence bags up to one of the houses.

'Nothing has come back out yet.'
