Police have shared an update after a man was seriously injured in a high street attack.
In the early hours of Friday, April 24, a 33-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after being set upon in Cosham High Street. Rushed to Southampton General Hospital with what emergency services described as a ‘serious head injury’, his condition was later described as stable.

A section of Cosham High Street was closed off while officers investigated the scene of the crime. Two people, an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy from Portsmouth, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
A third person, and 18-year-old from Petersfield, was also arrested, but later released with no further action to be taken. Now, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has updated The News on the progress of their investigation.
A spokesperson for the police force said: “They [the two who were arrested] have been further bailed until 26 October whilst enquiries continue.”
