Portsmouth apartment closed by police after tenant caused 'significant issues' for neighbours
A closure order has been stuck on the door of the apartment.
Police have ordered the closure of a Portsmouth apartment after a spate of incidents from the property.
According to officers in the city, an address in the Portsea and Landport area was the subject of multiple complaints of anti-social behaviour - the nature of which has not been disclosed at the time of publication.

But whatever was happening at the flat was serious enough for police to take action, issuing an immediate closure order. This prohibits all access to the property, including for those who live there, typically for three months.
A spokesperson for Portsmouth Police said: “The Portsea and Landport neighbourhood policing team have served a closure order on an address in the area following ongoing reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB).
“The address had been causing significant issues for residents within the block and the wider community. Following reports from members of the public and partnership working, action has been taken to help improve the quality of life for those living nearby.
“We would like to thank everyone who took the time to report concerns to us. Information from the community plays a vital role in helping us identify problems and take positive action where necessary.”
Police added that reporting any and all anti-social behaviour “help us build a clearer picture of issues affecting our communities”.
To report anti-social behaviour, people can call 101 to contact the police - or 999 in an emergency. You can also report online via the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary website, or visit a police station in-person.
