A BREWERY had thousands of pounds worth of items stolen by three ‘cheeky’ men who even stopped for a drink of beer during the ‘devastating’ raid.

Staggeringly Good Brewery, in Fratton, was ambushed by three males between 6.03pm and 7.20pm on September 3 - just a week before the fledgling brewery’s fifth birthday.

But despite the blow, staff at the brewery have licked their wounds and are now urging the public to help capture the assailants by posting CCTV images of the men with a form for people to fill in should they recognise them.

A post on the brewery’s website said: ‘It’s been a tough few months for us all but a few short weeks ago we got an extra surprise when we were robbed.

‘Three young lads broke into the brewery through a damaged air vent and proceeded to steal thousands of pounds worth of equipment.

‘To come in the next day, knowing how hard our small team has worked to keep this brewery going over the last few months was utterly devastating. We all had to suck it up that morning and decided to do a pilot brew to take our minds off things.’

Staggeringly Good Brewery has now installed new security to prevent future burglaries.

‘Now, whilst you enjoy your pint you can take a look at these cheeky ******** nicking all our stuff,’ the post added.

‘We have since fully Fort Knox’d the place and installed 4K security.’
