Portsmouth FC fans among the most arrested in English football - on par with Millwall

Data published by OLGB.com show that 197 Portsmouth fans have been arrested inside and outside of grounds over the past six seasons.

This puts Pompey supporters down as the joint ninth worst in England – tied with Millwall.

The worst offending team is Birmingham City with 330 arrests, followed by Leeds United with 305 and Manchester United with 271.

Of Pompey’s 197 arrests, 65 of these were for violent disorder, which is where three or more people use or threaten the use of violence.

Overall, the most arrests have been from fans of Championship teams.

These arrests have been made for a variety of incidents, from pitch invasions to disorderly behaviour, to even throwing missiles.

The best behaved club, according to the figures, is another Hampshire side.

Over the past six seasons Eastleigh FC has only seen one fan arrested.
