Portsmouth jurors sworn in to hear trial of Mark Brandford accused of killing Kayleigh Dunning

JURORS are set to hear the trial of a man accused of murdering a 32-year-old woman in Portsmouth.

Colas worker Mark Brandford, 49, of Kingston Crescent, has appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court charged with murdering Kayleigh Dunning in December 2019.

He is also charged with disclosing a private sexual video of Ms Dunning, intending to cause her distress.

Ms Dunning, a cleaner, died on December 17.

A 14-strong jury has been sworn in this morning ahead of prosecutor Simon Jones making an opening speech.

Judge Timothy Mousley QC told jurors today the court building has been adapted to ‘comply with the national guidance’ over Covid-19.

The courtroom has been changed to accommodate people, he said.
