Portsmouth man, 63, assaulted by two men during attempted robbery

TWO men beat up a 63-year-old man in an attempted robbery in Portsmouth.

The victim was approached by two men in Anchorage Park, near the Morrisons store in Anchorage Road, at around 10.30pm yesterday.

The pair assaulted the man as part of an attempted robbery, before the suspected ran towards Eastern Road.

The victim sustained minor injuries.

A police spokeswoman said: ‘The two men are described as one white man, around 5ft 11ins tall with a stocky build, and short brown hair, (and) another white man, with a stocky build, wearing white Lonsdale trainers and a navy beanie with the letter N on it.’
