Portsmouth man charged after police seize rucksack stuffed with 7kg of cocaine

A MAN from Portsmouth has been charged after police seized 7kg of cocaine.

Officers made the haul in Heston, west London, last week.

Estimates suggest its street value could be around £350,000.

Michael Middleton, 40, of Rochford Road, Wymering was among three people arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

Andrew Adams, 55 of Sudbourne Road, Felixstowe and Ervis Hoxha, 31 of Beechcroft Road, Tooting were also arrested on Thursday, March 12 by officers from the joint National Crime Agency and Metropolitan Police Organised Crime Partnership.

Prior to being arrested, the agency said, Middleton and Adams drove back to the UK from Calais to Folkestone via the Eurotunnel.

They then drove to an address in Westbrook Road, Heston, where they met Hoxha.

It was there officers seized a rucksack containing the drugs.

A search of a property in Tooting also unearthed £2,000 in cash and a small quantity of cocaine.

The agency said all three men were charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs on Friday.

They are due to appear at Kingston Crown Court on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.

The investigation is ongoing.
