Portsmouth man Steven Chariewa charged with rape of woman in Hilsea

The 26-year-old victim was attacked in a property in Hilsea early on Sunday morning, police have said.
Steven Chariewa, 27, of Sun Street, Portsea, was subsequently arrested.
He was charged with one offence of rape.

Hide AdMr Chariewa appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court today and has been remanded into custody.
He is due to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on Thursday, January 14.
Police added that the victim continues to receive support from specially trained officers.
