Portsmouth man struck over head with glass bottle in late-night attack

A MAN was left needing stitches after being attacked by four men last week.

On Friday, February 26 a 50-year-old man was walking through Tottenham Road, Fratton, when he was approached by four men and attacked.

During the attack, which took place in the evening, he was struck over the head with a glass bottle.

A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘The incident happened at some time between 9pm and 9.45pm on Friday, February 26.

‘The 50-year-old victim was hit on the head with a glass bottle, causing an injury which required stitches.

‘We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who thinks they may have seen the offenders in the area, to get in touch with us.

‘Were you in the area at the time of the incident? Did you see anything that might help our inquiry?’
