Portsmouth police hunt for shoplifter armed with a knife who threatened security worker

A MAN allegedly attempting to steal bottles of whiskey from a shop pulled a knife out and threatened a security guard when confronted.

Police are appealing to the public for information following the incident at Morrisons, Flathouse Quay, on Tuesday March 9 at around 4pm.

‘A man entered the store and attempted to steal three bottles of whiskey. When challenged by security he threatened the guard with a knife,’ a police spokesman said.

‘We would like to speak to the man pictured in connection with the incident.’

He is described as white with scruffy hair and of slim build, around 5ft 5in tall who was aged in his late 20s/early 30s.

He was wearing black trousers, black trainers and a khaki green and black baseball jacket.
