Portsmouth stabbing: Recap updates as man arrested over fatal stabbing in Buckland

Police and paramedics were both called to Pickwick House in Wingfield Street, Buckland, this afternoon following a serious incident.

Detectives have now arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of murder following the death of a 26-year-old man.

Police have said they are ‘not currently seeking any other suspects’.

A large cordon was put up in the area.

An air ambulance also landed at nearby Buckland park.

Pictures from the scene show a number of police cars as well as an ambulance outside Pickwick House this afternoon.

Detective Inspector Matt Gillooly from Hampshire Constabulary’s Major Crime Unit said: ‘We would like to reassure the public that we believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no wider risk to the community.'
