Portsmouth rape: Five people remain in police custody after woman, 19, is raped in Turner Road

DETECTIVES investigating the rape of a 19-year-old woman are still questioning five people in connection with the attack.

The incident took place in the early hours of yesterday morning in Buckland.

Police said the teenage victim was approached by two men as she walked along Lake Road between midnight and 1am on Sunday.

The males then continued to follow her to Turner Road, where the assault then took place.

An area near and around Ark Dickens Primary School was taped off and evidence markers laid out on the ground as officers carried out enquiries yesterday.

Three 18-year-old men, a 17-year-old boy and 16-year-old boy, all from Portsmouth, have each been arrested on suspicion of rape.

A spokeswoman from Hampshire police confirmed all five were still in custody and being questioned by officers.
