Nicole Weller, 24 from Fratton, was working an overnight shift while on placement at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.

Finishing her shift in the morning of August 21, the third year university student walked from the hospital to her Fiat 500 in Sundridge Close – to find a window smashed, panels caved in and wing mirrors destroyed.

Nicole studies at Bournemouth University and grew up in Littlehampton.

She’s had her Fiat 500 since 2014, but has now been left without a mode of transport.

‘My car has been completely written off,’ she said.

‘They hit every single panel on the car and smashed through the window. Nothing was taken because there was nothing inside, but another car opposite was broken into and they took the SatNav from it.

‘My work colleagues have offered to drive me to and from work and I am hugely thankful for that.

‘It’s upsetting because I have had the car for so long – I’ve really looked after it and it didn’t have so much as a scratch on the paintwork.’

It’s thought a brick was used to get into the second vehicle.

Police were called and are investigating.

A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘We received reports of two vehicles which were broken into some time overnight on August 20 in Sundridge Close, Cosham.

‘A sat nav was stolen from one of the vehicles.

‘Anyone with information about these incidents should contact police on 101, quoting 44200320657.’
