Portsmouth woman charged with robbing pensioner 'in her 90s' is named by police

POLICE investigating the robbery of a woman in her 90s have charged a 52-year-old female from Portsmouth.

The attack took place in Palmerston Road, Southsea, on Sunday afternoon.

It’s alleged that shortly before 4pm, the elderly victim had her purse stolen.

Following a rapid investigation, officers arrested and charged 52-year-old Amanda Deary, of Unicorn Road, Landport, with robbery.

Deary appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on Monday and is due to appear at the city’s crown court on August 24.
