Cruel Amanda Deary repeatedly targeted pensioner’s homes in Ian Gibson Court in Carlisle Road, Southsea, twice taking nothing and then leaving with toilet paper and £400 in cash.

Deary, 52, was put off in her first two raids when she was first disturbed by a nurse in a flat and then fled when a victim screamed in another home on February 15.

Two months later she robbed a 90-year-old woman in Palmerston Road, in Southsea, on July 26.

Now her targeting of elderly victims has been cut short as a judge jailed her on Friday for four years.

PC Charlotte Pocock said: ‘Amanda Deary deliberately targeted vulnerable, elderly victims, and I hope this sentence provides them with some closure.
