A YOUNG girl kicked out at a man who approached her, police said.

The 11-year-old was near the scout hut in Gatcombe Park in The Ridings, Hilsea, on Saturday at 2.50pm when she was approached.

Hampshire police is investigating the ‘suspicious incident’.

The girl had just jumped a fence and fallen over.

The man did not say anything to her but the girl kicked at him and he ran off.

The spokeswoman added: ‘The girl kicked out at the man and he ran off.

‘He was last seen running off across the grounds of Gatcombe Park Infant School.’

The man was wearing a green jacket with a hood.
