Revealed: Is this the face of the Portsmouth hammer attacker?
The man was seen running across Shearer Road, past the Shearer Arms pub and into Beecham Road in Buckland, Portsmouth, at the time of the attack, which left the teenager with life-threatening injuries. It happened at 7pm on Monday.
Yesterday detectives released CCTV showing a shadowy figure and have now produced the image of a brown-haired bearded man.

The teenaged victim is still in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Police say that they need to speak to the man in the efit as he may be able to assist with their enquiries.
Superintendent Will Schofield, who is in charge of policing in Portsmouth, said: ‘Officers from across the city and other areas of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight are working tirelessly to progress this investigation to secure justice for the victim.
