REVEALED: Portsmouth's worst bike-theft blackspots
The ‘league table’ of 28 locations is published as The News today reveals the number of bicycles stolen from city streets has shot up by at least 10 per cent in the past year.
The incidents took place between April to October this year, and are compared with the same period last year;
Commercial Road – 42, down from 49 (-14.29 per cent)
Arundel Street – 39, up from 20 (+95 per cent)
Palmerston Road – 21, up from eight (+ 162.50 per cent)
Gunwharf Quays – 14, down from 24 (-41.67 per cent)
Fawcett Road – 13, up from four (+225 per cent)
Clarence Esplanade – 12, down from 14 (-14.29 per cent)
Cambridge Road – 11, down from 12 (-8.33 per cent)
Fratton Way – 10, up from 2 (+400 per cent)
Rodney Road – nine, up from zero (+100 per cent)
Guildhall Square – eight, no change
Gunwharf Road – eight, no change
Tangier Road – eight, up from two (+300 per cent)
