Six people arrested in Gosport for suspected drug and weapon offences

HALF a dozen people have been arrested as part of a drugs investigation in Gosport.

Last night, police officers in Gosport exercised two warrants at addresses in Parham Road, near the town centre.

There, six people were arrested on a mix of suspected drug and weapon offences.

A 59-year-old man from Gosport was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B drug with intent to supply.

A 47-year-old man from Gosport was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B drug with intent to supply.

A 51-year-old woman from Fareham was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B drug with intent to supply.

A 43-year-old man from Gosport was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug with intent to supply, being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, and possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid or gas (namely pepper spray).

A 40-year-old woman from Gosport was arrested on suspicion of possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid or gas (namely pepper spray).

A 41-year-old man from Essex was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug with intent to supply, and possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid or gas (namely pepper spray).

Posting on Twitter, Gosport Police said: ‘Following the execution of two warrants in Parham Road last night, four males and two females were arrested on suspicion of drug and weapon-related offences.

‘Items were also seized from both addresses.’
