Somers Town: Two men taken to hospital after police called to reports of stabbings

Officers were called to Margate Road in Somers Town just after 10pm last night and found a 20-year-old man and 28-year-old man, both who had sustained injuries, not thought to be life-threatening.
The pair were taken to Southampton General Hospital and the 20-year-old, who had injuries to his shoulder and abdomen, has undergone surgery and is now in a stable condition.

Hide AdThe 28-year-old also had treatment for injuries to his upper left shoulder.
Neighbours said they heard a scream and saw a man covered in blood.
Another resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: ‘I live next to the shops so was a bit shocked at how close it was to my home I have young children.
‘I could see police everywhere and ambulance so I walked to the shop and he was lying in the doorway being worked on by paramedics. It was so sad to see such a young boy in this way.

Neighbour Julie Webb added: ‘I did hear a scream before but thought nothing of it as you hear it a lot round here. It really does worry me I have kids. It is very scary and makes you just want to move away.’
Officers have carried on investigations today to find out exactly what happened.
A police spokesman said: ‘We were called at 10.05pm on Monday to a report that two men had been stabbed on Margate Road, Southsea.

‘He was transported to Southampton General Hospital where he has undergone surgery and remains in a stable condition.

‘A 28-year-old man received injuries to his upper left shoulder and also went to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.
‘His injuries are not thought to be life threatening. An investigation to establish the exact circumstances of the incident is underway and officers will be in the area today conducting enquiries.
