Suspected arsonists torch front door of home in Gosport

AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after suspected arsonists torched the front door of a home.

The attack took place in Parham Road, Gosport at 11.59pm last night.

Fire crews from Gosport, Fareham and Portchester were scrambled to tackle the blaze.

A spokesman from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘All persons were soon accounted for and the fire was out on arrival with tactical ventilation and breathing apparatus used for smoke clearance.

‘The casualties were treated at the scene by South Central Ambulance Service for smoke inhalation.’

Firefighters concluded their involvement at 1.04am.

The incident has since been handed to the police to guard the scene ahead of a joint fire investigation today.
