A SUSPECTED burglar was arrested after people were attacked in a street causing racial ‘distress’.

Officers swooped to Battenburg Avenue, Portsmouth, at 2.37pm yesterday to the suspected burglary before receiving reports of a man assaulting people in the same street.
After attending the incidents, police arrested a 27-year-old man from Portsmouth on suspicion of burglary, causing racially or religiously aggravated harassment/alarm/distress and two offences of common assault.
