Suspicious driver arrested after police unit discover Class A drugs during car search
A driver has been arrested after being found with drugs
A driver acting suspiciously in a residential area has been arrested following the discovery of Class A drugs hidden in their car.
Roads Policing C shift officers, from Whitchurch, were patrolling in Eastleigh over the weekend when they stopped a vehicle acting oddly.
In a Hampshire and Isle of Wight Roads Policing Unit Facebook post, it said: “We love surprises especially when we’re surprising drug dealers but as you can imagine, they don’t often like to see us, can’t imagine why.

“Unfortunately for the driver and their business plan, officers were on their toes and able to get to the car quickly and whilst the driver still had suspected Class A drugs on their lap.”
Officers worked alongside Police Dog, Major, and their handler, and a search was conducted under the Misuse of Drugs Act. During the search, more suspected Class A drugs were discovered hidden in the car.
A man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of criminal property. Their vehicle was also seized as the driver was using the car without valid insurance.
