Thief jailed for stealing £5,000 worth of goods from stores in Portsmouth and Southampton
He admitted 31 offences
A thief has been jailed for two years after stealing more than £5,000 worth of goods from stores in Southampton, Portsmouth and Hedge End.
Dylan Doran, 43, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to 31 shoplifting offences before being locked up.

A court heard that between March 2025 and August 2026 Doran targeted shops in Southampton, including the Co-Op on Shirley Road, One Stop on Park Road and Boots on Portswood Road, as well as the Co-op on Fawcett Road, Portsmouth and Sainsbury’s on Tollbar Way, Hedge End, stealing a variety of goods including food, drinks, household and skincare products, worth a total of approximately £5,095.50.
Appearing at Southampton Crown Court, Doran was sentenced to two years in prison. Along with his time behind bars, he has also been handed a Criminal Behaviour Order which prohibits him from entering multiple shops across the county.
Speaking after the sentence PC Rachel Gallimore, the anti-social behaviour tactical advisor for the west, said: “I am really pleased to see Doran sentenced and subject to a Criminal Behaviour Order. I hope this outcome provides the shops he relentlessly targeted some relief knowing he is now behind bars.
“Shoplifting is not a victimless crime. Repeat offenders, such as Doran, cause distress and creates an environment of fear for retail workers. We will never tolerate this behaviour and will continue to target and prosecute those intent on stealing from our local businesses.
“We want to stop this criminality, and encourage businesses affected to please keep reporting crimes to us, so we can pursue those responsible."
