Three teens arrested on suspicion of GBH after man stabbed in neck in Portsmouth released from custody

Three teenagers who were arrested in connection with a stabbing in Portsmouth have been released under investigation.Â

A 27-year-old man was stabbed in the neck after a fight between two groups of people in Fratton on Tuesday (September 10) evening. 

He was in a serious condition in Southampton General Hospital.

Police are investigating the incident which happened between two groups around Newcome Road and Walmer Road, in Fratton, at 6.30pm on Tuesday.

A group of four men were approached by a second group of three to four people. 

A fight then took place, resulting in the victim getting stabbed.

Police said the second group then left the area in a silver Vauxhall Astra, possibly heading in the direction of Byerley Road.

Three other men in the group suffered minor injuries.

Police arrested three 18-year-old men, all from Portsmouth, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent but they have been released under investigation. 

Detective Inspector Abigail Leeson, said: '˜We know the group of three to four people arrived in the area in a silver Vauxhall Astra. 

'˜Witnesses have told us the vehicle had visible damage on it, which is not believed to have been caused in this incident. 

'˜We understand this may cause concern to members of the community.
