Travellers moved on from two locations pitch up in Havant amid Waterlooville update
Efforts made to remove travellers
Travellers moved on from two locations have now pitched up in Havant.
Two encampments at Old Copse Road and Stockheath Common in Havant were both moved on last week, but have since arrived on Havant Rugby field, Hooks Lane. There are 16 caravans in total.

A Havant Borough Council spokesperson said: “We are speaking with the police to see if they are able to intervene. Havant Borough Council went to court on Friday, to gain a section 78 for removal, and this was served on three of the vehicles/caravans this morning.
“We are seeking advice if the same order can be served on the remaining 13 vehicles, that arrived on this site after the order had been made.”
Travellers were also seen arriving on Hambledon Road at the Berewood Estate, Waterlooville, on Thursday around 9pm. The spokesperson added: “Havant Borough Council is aware of the encampment mentioned, however this is on the Berewood Estate which is still owned by the developer.
“As this is private land Havant Borough Council have no jurisdiction and will not get involved with the eviction process.”
A police spokesperson said on Monday: “Travellers are still at the location on Hambledon Road. Officers are monitoring the situation and liaising with the local authority.”
