Two cyclists, 19 and 20, injured in Fareham hit-and-run crash

A PAIR of cyclists have been left with serious injuries after a van collided with them and fled the scene on a flyover in Fareham yesterday.

Police were called to the incident involving the cyclists and a white Volkswagen Crafter on the Newgate Lane flyover at 7.28pm on Sunday.

The two cyclists, a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old man both from Paulsgrove, were taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries, which are considered serious but not life-threatening.

A spokeswoman from Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘The Volkswagen failed to stop at the accident and had left the scene prior to police arrival.’
